Lieutenant Cody Pelletier graduated and received his commission from the United States Air Force Officer Training School, 42nd Air Base Wing, Maxwell AFB, AL on May 22, 2019. He has transferred to the 71st Flying Training Wing, Vance AFB, OK for Advanced Pilot Training. Cody graduated with Honors from Nokomis Regional High in 2012, was a member of the National Honor Society, Varsity Math Team, and was recognized for many athletic accomplishments, primarily Varsity Track and Varsity Football where he represented Nokomis during the 2012 Maine Shriners Lobster Bowl Classic. He attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, Daytona Beach, FL where he was an active member of the student government, graduating in 2016, earning a Bachelor of Science Degree in Unmanned Aircraft Systems Science, with a Minor in Meteorology, and a Minor in Psychology. Cody was most recently employed by General Atomics Aeronautical Systems as an Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Pilot prior to Commissioning in the United States Air Force. Lieutenant Pelletier is the son of retired Air Force Master Sergeant Joe Pelletier of Newport and former Air Force Staff Sergeant Jennie Roberts of Plymouth, and brother to Morgan Pelletier and Tyler Pelletier.
Sailor Katelyn Marie Walker graduated Navy Boot Camp at Great Lakes, Illinois on Friday, January 25th.
While in Boot Camp Katelyn earned a sharp shooters badge. Katelyn will be stationed at Norfolk, Virginia. She graduated from Mt. View High School in 2016. Katelyn’s family recognizes her accomplishments.
Private John C. Malmquist of Palmyra graduated Basic Combat Training (BCT) at Fort Sill, Oklahoma, being only the second group to complete the “Forge”. The Forge is a new basic training style that upends basic training exercises of the last 20 years in favor of a more grueling, intense, and efficient training designed to ensure soldiers are more mobile and efficient on the battlefield. After BCT graduation, John attended Advanced Individualized Training (AIT) at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. While there, John graduated top of his class, receiving The United States Army Achievement Medal for Outstanding Performance. His dedication placing him above peers on discipline, presence and knowledge, rewarding him with the name, The Iron Knight. John is currently stationed at Fort Bliss, Texas. Private John Malmquist is a 2018 graduate of Nokomis Regional High. He is the son of John and Donna Malmquist of Palmyra.
